GREAT SHOW! GREAT COMPANY! GREAT SWING?

Good evening everyone,
Our hard work payed off and the show was a tremendous success. We had a great turn out and it was wonderful to experience such support.
I would like to thank all my friends and family for turning out to support the final presentation. A presentation that felt like it was years in the making. Alright, I know that is a bit of a MAJOR exaggeration but that is how it felt, at times.
Maureen and Angela were wonderful team mates and demonstrated incredibly unique skills.
The night before was a bit of a scramble, but after everything was in place, I was amazed at the differences of our perspectives.
What an incredible honor to witness work from completely different individuals. Our approaches evolved with each image. Thank you ladies, I appreciate your talent and support not to mention your incredible humor.
The show is now available on my website. Please click below to be taken directly to the site...

"The Big House"

This is a time for us to celebrate with friends, family, and fans. We have all worked very hard and have learned some incredible lessons about having a show.

About my contribution...

I have spent the last several months exploring the neighborhood of South Park. This neighborhood has inspired me, along with the closure of our bridge, to capture what influences this community.

Factors of light, multiple cultures and class provided an abundance of subject matter.
It has been difficult to narrow down my collection.

The she show was captured entirely with 4X5 Toyo camera. I have had it for almost 2 years and this is my first time using the device. Wow what a challenge.

My journey's with photography always lead me back to film. I don't see how anyone could think it is becoming a lost art.
I look forward to seeing everyone at the show and hope to hear from you soon.

University of Washington Photo Contest. Best in show, WHAT?

Hello Everyone,
The contest started with me filling out an application and thinking, "sounds like fun"!
This was a speck of a thought, until I received the email the next day telling me I had 3 days to interpret a list of terms and phrases. Turning symbolic vernacular into images was quite the challenge! However, I jumped in and submerged myself into playing with light and subject matter.

Standing on a corner until three in the morning to get the best shot of construction lighting. Waiting two hours for the proper lighting to capture refraction from the water droplets on our banana plant. Exhilarated by the break in the clouds, which allowed me to witness water droplets on the moon roof of a car. Then arriving home totally exhausted to be welcomed by my family. I could not ask for anything more fulfilling.

The show of individual work was displayed a few days later and I was ecstatic to see each individuals interpretation of the project.

I was honored when advised that my work received "Best in Show".
Recognition for my perception of an image is quite humbling. Thank you everyone for you support!

Merry Christmas!

"It is a fair, even-handed, noble adjustment of things, that while there is infection in disease and sorrow, there is nothing in the world so irresistibly contagious as laughter and good-humour."

Happy Holidays!

The snow and ice has been consuming everyones lifestyle. How have you been dealing with the changes?

This is the first blog I have made in days!
I hope you have all been shoveling your sidewalks and driveways!
My time has been saturated with work, exploring the landscape and the incredible lights that are reflecting off of the city's surfaces.

My opportunities this past week have taken me on some fascinating adventures.
I have pushed our BMW out of Eddie Vedder's driveway, dined on Dim-sum in a restaurant that has an average temperature of 40 degrees, hugged a stranger, and have taken the time to stop and listen to the silence.
The city has taken on a new essence. People are scaling snow mounds, helping people cross the street, using numerous devices to slide down Denny way, and most of all taking the time to slow down and enjoy the holidays.

I will be traveling down south for Christmas with my family.
I will take this opportunity to take a break from my hectic schedule and enjoy the holiday.

My next post will be about the progression of numerous projects. Next year will be an eventful and fantastic year, if you need any photography needs please let me know as soon as possible.

I am always up for new assignments.

Have a safe and warm celebration!

Sounds like a strong winter storm is headed our way!!!

I am ecstatic about the storm that may or may not be arriving upon us! Living in Washington means, NEVER trust the weather report! I have spent the last few days shopping, preparing for Christmas, yes I said it, Christmas! I know some may feel it is not the most politically correct identification to make but, I feel it is the perfect time of year to do some incredible holiday shooting and give into my childhood memories!

We are fortunate enough to witness this rare and beautiful weather. I hope your are celebrating this incredible occasion!
I finished our tree, Robert is back from New York and sleeping snug in our bed.
Our tree provided me with the opportunity to capture the nostalgic essence of Christmas!

I traveled down the street to purchase the finishing touches for our tree and witnessed some hilarious situations.
People, "white knuckling the steering wheel, afraid of spinning out, fighting over the closest parking space at the mall, arguing over whether snow was wet or hard water...I know, I know, I couldn't believe it when i heard it! Kids laughing at me when I fell on the side walk, not one, not two, but three times. That is the point when you laugh and acknowledge the humor of the situation.
Hopefully, we will get some extra snow on Saturday night...I mean tonight!

Our tree looks great, what does yours look like?
